Hiring Tracks
Cognizant is offering three distinct career tracks to 2025 graduates:
- GenC (Generation Cognizant)
- GenC Pro
- GenC Next
Each track is curated based on the candidate’s technical proficiency and domain exposure.
GenC - Entry Level Technology Role
This track is for students who have foundational coding and software development knowledge.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements and clarify doubts if needed.
- Write, debug, and deploy clean code in alignment with provided specifications.
- Prepare test cases and validate output as per business expectations.
- Participate in agile development teams and follow the full software development life cycle.
- Create low-level design documents.
- Identify and prioritize tasks to meet timelines effectively.
- Address development issues and contribute to project quality.
- Collaborate in technical sessions and cross-functional team meetings.
- Proactively upskill to match industry needs.
- Exhibit strong communication and team collaboration.
✅ GenC Pro – Platform & Technology Expert Role
This track is for candidates with certified knowledge and deeper understanding of specific enterprise platforms.
Requirements
- Mandatory possession of accredited certifications in one or more mentioned skills.
- Strong logical reasoning, coding and problem-solving capabilities.
- Will be deployed in complex projects across verticals.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for any of the three tracks, the candidate must fulfill the following:
- Graduation Year: 2025
- Eligible Degrees: B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech
- Excluded Streams: Fashion Technology, Leather Technology, Food Technology, etc.
- Academic Record: Minimum 60% in X, XII, Diploma, UG and PG (No rounding off allowed).
- Backlogs: No standing arrears at the time of joining.
- CGPA Conversion: As per university guidelines.
- Citizenship: Indian Nationals / OCIs residing in India.
- Work Flexibility: Must be open to working in any Cognizant office, shift, or technology as per business requirements.
Important Application Guidelines
- Applications should be submitted via Superset portal.
- Only personal email IDs (not college IDs) must be used and maintained throughout the process.
- No changes to registered email ID will be accepted post-application.
Mandatory Documents
During Registration
- Updated Resume (with passport-size photo).
- Industry-accredited certificates (mandatory for GenC Next and GenC Pro).
During Interview
- All mark sheets (X, XII, UG, PG).
- College ID (if available).
- Provisional or degree certificate.
During Onboarding
- PAN Card: Must match official documents. Background verification depends on it.
- Voter ID/Passport: Required to verify Indian citizenship.
Salary Details
The salary package depends on the track:
- GenC: ₹4,00,000 per annum (approx.)
- GenC Pro: ₹5,00,000 – ₹6,00,000 per annum (approx.)
- GenC Next: ₹6,50,000 – ₹6,75,000 per annum (approx.)
Salaries may include base pay, joining bonus, and performance-linked incentives.
Assessment & Interview Process
Shortlisted candidates will receive an invitation for the following steps:
- Aptitude Test – Logical, Verbal, Quantitative sections.
- Technical Assessment – Based on applied track (GenC Next, Pro).
- HR Interview – Communication, motivation, and willingness to learn.

Q1: Can students from MCA or M.Sc apply?
Only B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech streams are eligible for this specific hiring.
Q2: What if I have 59.9% in one academic year?
Unfortunately, rounding off is not allowed. A strict minimum of 60% is required.
Q3: Is work-from-home available?
Candidates must be flexible to work from any Cognizant office as per business needs.
Q4: What is the difference between GenC Next and GenC Pro?
GenC Next is focused on advanced full-stack programming, while GenC Pro targets platform-specific roles like SAP, Salesforce, etc.
Q5: Will I get to choose my track?
Cognizant will finalize your hiring category after assessments and interviews based on your skills and profile.
